24-hour emergency shelter for girls ages 5 to 16 located in Dallas, Texas. We take in displaced girls who are in need of a place to stay until a permanent home can be found for them. These girls are often removed from their families due to abuse, neglect, or even homelessness. Our mission is to provide refuge for girls that are displaced and give them a place that provides shelter, support and hope. While the girls are in our care, we provide meals, clothing, toiletries and whatever else they may need. Some girls arrive with only the clothes on their backs. We also provide friendship, care and a listening ear. We aim to create a place that feels like home. We enroll them in school and teach the girls life skills so that they are better prepared to be successful when they leave our care. We also ensure all of their medical needs are taken care of. We aim to create an environment of comfort, safety, and stability as this is their home away from home.
Mosaic is dedicated to serving survivors of human rights abuses from around the world and within our community. Mosaic creates access to opportunities for our clients, empowering them toward independence. Mosaic hopes to equip future leaders with the skills to impact their own diverse communities for a stronger, more vibrant North Texas.
Viola’s House, Inc. is an emergency placement shelter for teen mothers faced with an unplanned pregnancy, who may also be at-risk for homelessness. Viola’s House utilizes a holistic approach in order to help teen expectant mothers make enduring, positive changes in their lives. The Program provides basic life necessities of housing, food and clothing, in addition to life skills, education and training in financial literacy, parenting and counseling. Viola’s House takes a preventative approach and provides a comprehensive second chance prevention program.
